Support for someone at work
Asking for a bit of advise regarding DS, he is 28, has aspergers and learning diff, but he has managed to get a job in a kitchen of a care home, which he sort of enjoys, he has been there 2 and 1/2 years now. Some shifts with one manager are OK and he doesnt mind going in, in fact i think he quite enjoys going to work! THere is another manager, who seems to do mainly weekends who is very shouty, abrupt and makes DS life quite difficult, to the point it is making him feel ill and worried (he often over thinks things). DS has said he has tried to explain to someone, but nothing is done. Obviously he is an adult and I cannot go wading in there fighting his corner, much as I want to. He isnt in a union and wonder whether he should be or not? Another option might be getting an Advocate involved. HIs work are aware of his disabilities, was all declared on application etc, and he has one very understanding boss and he does like it there, he has worked in another care home, but he likes this one as he says they look after their residents well! Any ideas of what to do?
This parenting malarky just gets worse the older they get!
