Wheelchair hire and use in WDW and Universal

Hi thinking of getting a wheel chair at WDW and Universal for my mother who wont be able to walk long distances she does want to attempt some of the rides though

Is there a wheel chair park at each ride and is it safe from people stealing them?

are there also long term 2 week rentals available at the park?

You would be better renting from somewhere like Randys Moblity or buying a hair here to take and defiantly consider airport assistance at each end both ways

You can get a length of stay rental from Disney for $10 a day. You pick up and drop off the wheelchair at the entrance and exit of the park but cant take it out. Think we'll do this for my dad as he struggled this year with all the walking.

We hired a chair from Disney and did it via a voucher system over several days reducing the cost. Each park has courtesy chairs in the disabled car park area that you can use to get to the entrance (and back to the car park) and then the rental chairs are located just inside the entrance.

You'll be given a name plate so you can identify yours.

Never had an issue with anyone walking off with it when we were on rides. There are places to leave buggies, but wheel chairs are generally taken by the CM as you transfer on to a ride and moved to the exit for you as you get off.
