I have 2 children with Autism and have many quirks so we had to take allsorts with us. I would deff vacum pack a lightweight duvet if you can fit it in as they dont sell them over there. As for sheet changing i would just explain the situation. You wont be the first. Would he wear some of the nightime pj pants just in case?

You can buy pads that go over the sheets so you don't need to change the bedding just the pad (if the bedding isn't wet). They are similar to puppy training pads (you would probably be cheaper buying the puppy training pads).

Yes this is what I normally use but he won't sleep on them 🤔 so I have to put them under the sheet sadly.
In regards to the bed time pants he'd start regressing more I feel if we went down that route. We have a consultant meet before we go on holiday so we will hear If he will get a formal diagnosis. There is definitely sensory processing issues, if they give the asd diagnoses my be a little while off still. |

OP, Disney ABSOLUTELY has waterproof mattress protectors. Just request one before you go. I would also confirm at check-in - but it's quite a common request. Try not to worry.

oh they do? that's good to know. It's going to be our first family holiday away (OH + kids first time at disney!) and i'm trying to get my head around what i can do for everyone to make it run as smoothly as possible. We have a workshop before we go too on sensory processing disorder so i am hoping we may be able to find out some tricks on how to deal with some of his quirks while away. he's very tactile so the cover thing is quite a big issue for him. i couldn't imagine 2 weeks with him being upset/uncomfortable at night. we'd all suffer i'm sure we'll manage to resolve any obstacles that come in our path

My DS had some MAJOR sensory issues when he was small - we have to travel A LOT - and we used to have to take his SHEEPSKIN and put that down in the hotel bed (and the aeroplane seat, oh joy ) before he'd even contemplate getting into it. Which was cute at age 2, but began to get rather embarrassing (for him) as he got older. Thankfully, he grew out of that particular quirk!
I'm not telling you anything you don't already know - but in the spirit of preaching to the converted I'll say that what always helped us the most was keeping as many things as possible THE SAME, especially at bedtime. So it was always well worth it for us to haul all his little obsessions/"necessities" with us. ALWAYS. |

Yes. Since we are packing particularly light I think a vac packed duvet is going to be the way to go. 😊
