Extra Legroom Seats
We are booked on a Virgin Atlantic Flight leaving Gatwick on 20th May 2018. We are on a 747.
Im 6'4" and NEED the extra legroom - I know there are extra legroom seats and also Exit Row seats, what do people recommend are best. There are 4 of us, 2x Adults and 2x Teenagers (17 & 13) so we want to be kinda together, guessing we will have to sit, 2 in front of one another as the seats are in 3's. I notice that the Extra Legroom seats are right next to where the cots for babies are.

The exit row seats at front of economy are great except for the one next to the door which has extra leg room for one leg only! However these are narrower seats which can be a problem for some people.

A fellow giant here at 6'4". We've always done the standard extra legroom seats rather than exit seats. Highly recommend them, always had a very comfy journey.

Ive booked up in the bubble seast 75j 75k for me and daughter and 76J 76K for Wife and Son ( so we are at least all together). Have I done the right thing? Ive heard that the bubble is better, sorry, I'm getting Flight seat OCD, lol...

Have to agree. Its worth it. I am 6 foot 4 and we did them last time. So have booked this time as well.
On some planes the seat next to the exit, has the box for the emergency chute, and this take up a lot of space. So its less worthwhile. However other planes do not have this. I think where the exit is on the wing. For a long flight its worth it. It good knowing you can stretch your legs out to the max and still have space. |

The exit row seat by the door in the bubble doesn't have the bulk in the door that the exit row has on the lower deck.
We love the exit row, even though the seat is narrower as the TV screen is in the arm of your seat. We're happy to have the narrower seat and no-one in front. I'm sure you will be very happy with those seats. You'll should also get off before those in economy downstairs. |

Those exit row seats are great, I think you will be very pleased with them, When we used to book exit rows they were always our preferred choice.

I have just booked the Exit row seats in the Bubble for 4th May 2018 & 18th May 2108 as we booked them on our last trip (May 2016) and they were the best seats in economy that we have had in our 7 years of flying Virgin from LGW to MCO and it may be the last time we will be able to book these seats as the 747's will be replaced by the time we book our next trip.
