I think this is one of the most interesting trip report days I've ever read, thanks for sharing Lisa! Shawneetown looks so strange, I see what you mean about it being like a movie set. The Amish fascinate me, it's really interesting to see your photos. A great day exploring, so different from a usual DIBB report but fascinating

I'm also caught up Lisa! This sounds like a fabulous trip. Your days in DC really take me back, we loved it there it just felt so historical (and I'm an American history geek too).
I bet your dad was so thrilled to have you all there. That is the cutest story about him buying a 7 seater for the grand kids. I hope you all had so much fun together. I do hope you post all of the you are here mugs at the end - would love to see them all. Your kids are so lovely & it's so nice to hear how well they get on together xx
