Thank you! I will look into it, we are flying Thomson so flying into Sanford

Its always a bit mixed isnt it, part of you must be relieved that they have found out what her problems are along with sadness too. Take a while to digest the information, try not to panic, there is so much more help available to aid your daughter through the many difficulties she will face. Be careful where you look for advice online. Usually the drs involved will direct you to the better websites. Take time to adjust, and i am sure you will be fine. Let the school know and they may be able to get extra help for her there too. X good luck and best wishes to you all as a family who will be in this together. X

I am in a similar situation to this, our 6 year old was diagnosed this year as high functioning and when we go in just over 2 weeks time we are going to be asking about the disability pass, waiting in queues with him in the past has been an absolute nightmare but now he's diagnosed I'm hoping we will be eligible for the disability pass to make things a little less stressful.

I have 2 children with Autism aged 7 and 8. We went to Florida for the first time with them last Easter. They were amazing on the flight and we had someone waiting at MCO with a chair for youngest and he then took us through everything right up to getting the car. We got the access passes in all the parks which made things so much easier. We also got a disabled parking pass as my youngest has a blue badge. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in a couple of weeks.

We too have an autistic child, although ours is 10 and we had a wait years for him to be diagnosed.

We are flying from Gatwick and they've already offered a free lanyard and a person to escort us through security as he hates queues & crowds make him scared.

Our plan is to get the DAS card at the parks.

Theme parks in the UK are great too, I bought us all Merlin passes this year and mine was issued free as a carer pass, we get free fasspass cards when we go to legoland, chessington etc...
