Question renting points for a 1 night ak stay?

dd wants to stay 1 night at Ak in a savannah view room when we go next may so wondered if its worth renting points to so? Does it really work out much cheaper?
I don't totally understand how it works with regards to renting points rather than being an owner
I did look on the calculator and its seems they would need 17/19 points for a stay anytime between the 12th -23rd?
thanks

Bearing in mind most people on here rent for £9 a point, you're looking at £171 for the night if you need 19 points.

I've checked AKL for a night in May 2018 in a Savannah room during those dates and it's more like £401 per night for a savannah view room. In the Villas (where the DVC rooms are) it's £437 a night for a savannah view studio so yes, the savings are huge.

The DVC studios have a little kitchenette too (just a microwave and toaster and sink etc).

I've said this before on similar posts, it's a lot for 19 hours- check in at 4:00pm- out at 11:00 am. My advice would be a minimum of 2 nights thereby giving you a bit of a chance to "enjoy" the resort.

I respectfully disagree - before we joined DVC we rented points at VGF for one night and it was way worth it. Monorail from MK to GF, few hours in the pool, dinner at V and A, electrical water parade and fireworks from our balcony, lovely sleep, late get up, breakfast at GF cafe. It was wonderful. Obviously would have loved to stay longer but I definitely felt one night was worth what we paid.

We've paid Disney direct for the contemporary on Halloween night and agree it was worth every penny . This year done the same again but added on 1 night savannah AKL and 1 night vgf. No way could we afford to stay at either but we can enjoy and relax the time we have. For something a little special with Disney magic thrown in its beyond worth it.
