Magic Bands - Staying Offsite

Is it worth buying magic bands if we are staying offsite, we will be a party of 5 but we are only doing Disney. My thought it will be easier especially for the photopass pics if we split up as a group, and I won't be rummaging around in my bag for the tickets.

Can you give me your thoughts please.

TIA

If you're using fast passes and the photo pass then I'd say yes. I don't really like things hanging around my neck, so never really liked the lanyard idea. For me the magic bands were the perfect solution! Although we've stayed onsite since the magic bands were introduced, we plan to take our magic bands next year, when we stay offsite - just need to remember that I can't pay for things and don't have ddp loaded on them!

Definitely worth it, saves tickets being in pockets potentially losing them! They're a godsend for photopass and fast passes not expensive considering how much you have spent on the holiday in the first place!

We have bought them when staying offsite, saves looking for cards each time you hit a ride for the fastpass, or at the entry gates etc... kids loved having them on

We also stay offsite and buy them - so much easier - especially photopasses in waterparks

We would always get them if we are offsite
They also allow you to get the video on 7DMT and ToT

I didn't realise you could do this, such a good idea! Do you know how much it is to change them & where you do it?

& are they & the photo pass for more than just Magic Kingdom?

Thanks!

We were offsite last August and before we went we didn't think it was worth the money. On day 2 we bought them as we were sick of getting tickets out especially at photographers. Kids loved the fact that they could then be in charge of getting photos by scanning their bands.

You don't change them, you just buy them and it replaces your ticket! You can buy them from the Disney shop at Orlando airport, or world of Disney at Disney springs. The cast member will link your tickets to them for you and you're good to go!

They will work for photopasses in all parks, and both water parks and there are some photo ops at Disney springs. You will also get a ride video for seven dwarf mine train and tower of terror. They will Also contain all your fast passes so no need to keep getting the card out every time you ride.

They're a genius bit of kit, and cost about $13.99 plus tax for a plain one (I think!) and more for a themed one:

They are worth there weight in gold tbh. We stay offsite but We book a night onsite as a treat at the beginning of the holiday to get the magic bands included, a bit of Disney magic and the ability to book fastpass at 60 days instead of 30. With 5 of you look at the campsite ( would be best value and you could actually gain cost wise- I know sounds daft) or a value like AOA and have a family room and stay onsite for a night . We've booked the contemporary because it's worth it for us and a lovely hotel and so close to MK .
