1 night stay at Miami before flight home...advice needed please x
We have just booked flights back to Manchester from Miami with Thomas Cook next September as the price for a family of five was just too good.
We finish our Disney cruise on the sat and the plan is to hire a car for the drive down and stay sat night in Miami ready for the flight on Sunday. This is where I could do with some help?... Not sure where to stay, would imagine an airport hotel is best? one with free shuttle to airport? Anyone done what we are planning? Should we drive to the hotel then take the car back to the rental desk on the sat or sun? What is there nearby to do in Miami ? Any ideas or help would be much appreciated. |

We decided to stay in Fort Lauderdale when flying from Miami. Our flight was Early evening, so we had the morning on the beach, drove to Sawgrass Mills at for last minute shopping and lunch. Then drove to the Airport - took about 40 mins, but was an easy drive.

We are cruising out of Miami in February and have booked to stay in Fort Lauderdale, we are going to leave Orlando early and have the afternoon and evening in the area.
There are loads of beach/city/airport options up to an hour north of Miami airport.

We've booked two nights in Fort Lauderdale, on beach, before flying home.

If you do want to be close to the airport and decide on staying in Miami then the Hilton at Blue Lagoon is a good place. The hotel has a lovely pool, which the children would enjoy. The hotel rooms are spacious, it ha s a good restaurant and also a free shuttle to airport.
