Thomas cook out virgin back seating ?
So flying back tomorrow hopefully with virgin after coming out with tc.
Haven’t heard anything just seen the update on Caa website. We were due to fly pe back , so how does that work now ? Will it show on virgin that we were pe or have we got to go economy? Not sure how this works as know nothing until we get to the airport tomorrow . Should we have had some sort of contact ? Jules

We came back last Wednesday with virgin the whole plane was economy class. We had paid to be in premium on Thomas cook flight but to be honest the only difference was the seats. After the shock of finding out Thomas cook had gone bankrupt we were just happy to be getting home
Though we flew into Manchester instead of Gatwick it took us 11.45 to get home. The staff at Orlando airport the cabin crew and staff at Manchester airport were amazing |

The CAA are simply repatriating you back to the UK. As such, they are only getting you home, not ensuring you get the same class of travel on the way back. It isn't like your flight has been changed from a TC flight to a Virgin flight with all the same conditions. I'm afraid it's likely you'll be in standard economy.
As mentioned above, it's also possible you may not even fly into the airport you started from. So be aware it may take longer to get home. I'm no expert but it might be possible to claim your money back for what you paid for the upgrade to PE from either your credit card or your insurance? Although I'm not sure. Best of luck and hope you have a good flight home!

As far as i'm aware, on the Virgin flights they have rows of seats allocated to CAA passengers in the economy section.
I don't see you getting upgraded to PE with Virgin when the TC equivalent isn't like for like as Virgin PE & TC PE are very different.

You'll turn up at the airport to do your check in, they suggest at least 3 hours before - based on previous stories of people not getting onto flights it's best to get there early to be sure, they'll do seat assignment at that point...back to the old days of non-olci
