I’ve got the Samsung and have been surprised how quick it is (1.5 hours) as I had read that they take longer. I got the Samsung eco bubble washer at similar time and use the high spin setting so maybe this has made the difference.

Us too... we went old school as we decided to put it in the garage and so could only have a vented one. After reading this I'm glad I did as I like to have a bit of a run at the laundry each week and having to wait 3 hours for the tumble would not have worked for us at all.

Our has a normal setting that takes about 2 1/2 hours for 10kg load, this is a aa rated load, if you want a quick dry you can do a speed dry that takes about 75 mins and is only a rated. Most vented drying is c rated.

We don’t even have to empty the water, it just empty’s into the same drain our washer goes into.

We didn't have a suitable outside wall for a vented one, and the heat pump ones were all too deep to stand on top of the washing machine in the utility so we opted for a Beko condenser which also has the option of a drainage tube into the w/m overflow. Best decision we made as it is efficient and not too expensive to run

Thanks for all your replies. Maybe we should have asked before we spent £429 (sale price should have been £499) on the bloody thing.
Stella spent over an hour on the phone to AO and Smeg today and the first person at Smeg told her, after speaking to an engineer that the dryer isn't actually designed to get the clothes bone dry Was told by Smeg to contact AO for a refund, but they called Smeg again and then arranged for them to send an engineer out on Friday. They have already admitted that the damn thing isn't doing what it is supposed do, because it's not actually designed to. So what is the point of sending an engineer out when there is nothing to be done. It's not bloody broken, it's just garbage, give us our money back and we'll buy something different. From Currys . Looks like the Beko condenser is worth a look.

A dryer not designed to dry? Sounds fishy to me.
I spent a few weeks researching before I bought ours. Never came across that "design feature". I am assuming ours is designed to dry clothes as this is what it does. If they can't "fix" it, I wold be rejecting it and buying another model that does what it is supposed to do. Good luck with the engineer - dont take any more nonsense from them. |
