The magic crayola ones which are like felts but can't mark anything other than the paper are really good. Also those foil paper books where you can scratch off to make pictures? Not sure if the residue of this may be classed as a mess though.

Try Crayola Color Wonder - no mess markets essentially as they only draw on the special crayola paper in the packs.

Also check out bakerross.co.uk which is a fabulous craft site with stuff ranging from messy to no mess, no scissors but still great fun to make. I've bought loads of stuff from the site over the years.

Have you thought about ‘Make your own magical unicorn friend’. It is a paper unicorn head that you fold and can hang on the wall. They do sharks and tigers as well.
