Restaurants and Café

Been having a debate with DH if we need to book a few places to eat before we go. Will be staying in St Ives Cornwell, so if anybody can recommend anything it would be much appreciated.

I booked our Hayle/St Ives restaurants for the end of the month back in April as I had heard that last summer there were 4 bums for every available seat in hospitality down there. I tried moving a booking last week to a different time and couldn't get anything for the restaurant we wanted so I would recommend trying to get things booked now if you can and having a bit of a plan. We have some nights where we don't have anything but are happy with a pasty / fish and chips on a bench if we need to.

You most certainly will need to book in advance.

The only one that I can thoroughly recommend is the Pedn Olva. That has great views and a very big reputation locally. I have had a couple of great meals there.

It is not that the rest are bad, simply that Falmouth where I live is absolutely flush with very good restaurants and I therefore have no need to travel. I have travelled for Pedn Olva though...

If near the A30 turnoff to Camborne, then Trevaskis Farm is excellent for a lunch.. and with cakes to die for!

If visiting Falmouth, then there are absolutely loads.. just send a PM. Again, getting a table may be a problem.
