My apologies. Pen also shared a photo of a half empty aircraft so assumed that’s where it came from.

It’s incredibly easy to judge the efforts of those out there based on a couple of pictures but none of the context or intelligence that those on the ground will have.

People don’t seem to understand. You can have a private plane however it takes personnel to organise those that are evacuating. It’s not as simple as boarding a flight, sorting out animals and off you go. No one wants to see anyone or animals suffer but trying to rescue these animals takes precious resources from elsewhere and that could be a young child and families we are talking about.
There was warnings this morning about attacks being imminent .
I have so much admiration for our armed services and what they are doing to help. I hope they are safe . My son was in the raf and he did tours of Afghanistan and Iraq.
It’s a terrible situation.

i did wonder why there were multiple refueling aircraft in the air at all times

Have experienced leaving a country with just the clothes on my back . When a dictator got into power many of us had to leave on a mercy flights back to the U.K,Australia, Canada.
Priorities have to be human life. I would hate to think that as sad as is with the animals that I could have been left behind because I was not the priority.

It’s not about the animals and where they go. It’s about the resource that is consumed loading the animals, fuelling the additional jet, it taking up a slot in high risk airspace, screening pax. That’s what distracts from loading more people.

It will be a real success story to get Pen and the animals out - but he’s had the leverage of a social media platform and people raising money for him. Others won’t be that lucky - the window is closing and they’ll be left behind.

Pen has known this was coming for some time, he’s an ex-marine, he’ll have known as well as the rest of us that once the US announced they were leaving, the Taliban were going to make moves. He could have made arrangements to get his people and animals out weeks ago.
