We have green wheelie bins for garden waste, wow they are just the worst smelling things ever!

Wish there we people to clean them out for us!

Pressure washer and bleach used very few months on ours to stop the rancid smell.

Sue. I doubt we get through 3 supermarket size bags a fortnight really. And most of that is non recyclable cellophane wrappers.

I do like to gift them other stuff though! Mastic tubes, rubble, clay, lumps of tree root etc.

I let them have 12 ends of some rafters yesterday that I had sized up for my new garage roof.

We have a green bin that we would put the tree roots in. I know it's hard to visualise anyone elses rubbish collection these days as we all have different. Our most public one is a box for glass so everyone can see how many wine bottles you have got through this fortnight.

Yes, I do. Bucket of soapy water and the long brush does the trick. Put upside down to dry out.

I'll use lashings of bleach and a hosepipe on mine now and again when it gets ringing. Even though the rubbish is in bags, they get split now and again. I don't clean them too well as they'll only get dirty again.
I'm too tight to pay £5 a month.
I have a food caddy that will get a swill every week it's emptied.

I was just thinking about this a few days ago. Ours are really needing a good clean.

Reading these comments I have googled bin cleaning in our area and can get it done for £2 a bin per month. I am now going to speak to my husband. I bet the power hose gets put to work shortly as he hates paying for things he can do himself.

We have a brown bin for garden waste, a blue bin for recyclables (paper, cardboard, glass and most plastic items), none of these need to be cleaned plus we put one black sack out for all other items. Our bin men collect weekly so never a big build up. Certainly never heard of a Mr Bin cleaner around these parts.

Two bins! We have five - three are large wheelie bins, one for glass which is a medium box size and a small food waste bin. Ours are collected fortnightly.
