Sorry to highjack, but we are going on 26/10 and coming back on 29th. Does this mean we can do the lateral flow test before we leave for Paris? I'm so confused

Yes you can take the test any time on the 26th as you are departing for your journey to the UK on the 29th

I'd never even thought of that! We also go at the end of November Sun - Wed so what day could we do the 'return ' tests?

So with regards to doing the test 72 hrs before, does it not have to be done to the hour then?

We are driving back and have the shuttle booked for 9.20pm I think on the Friday.
I was thinking we would have to do it from 9.20pm on the Tuesday.
Can it be any time that day then?

Anytime in the previous 3 days, not 72 hours. The gov website specifies this explicitly with an example
