I don't think the TV looks bad at all though I think if you lowered it a foot it would be better.

I think your TV is too high up the wall which may be putting your senses out.
Other than that it looks fabulous x |

I would think it better if the TV was lowered and you replaced your glass tables with some cabinets that arevhigher than your glass tables to take away some of the bareness of the wall. To be honest I'm not keen on TV's on the wall, I prefer them on a cabinet looking straight at them so I'm not much help at all.

I think it's important to bear in mind your own house style. I have a TV on the wall but as I have high ceilings it has a family portrait over it. The wall is painted panels. I like it but realize it's not everyones taste. I never lose sight of the fact the house is over a hundred years old so even if I like something it might not be appropriate.
PS I have never known anyone redecorate as much as you, I must be very lazy because I hate the upheaval. Edited at 09:18 PM. |

I agree that the TV looks too high. Also the decorations are too symmetrical. They're all very similar heights and lined up neatly across the units. I would try clustering some of them together and swapping some out to varying the heights a bit if they're not sentimental pieces.
Although if you like the symmetrical look, could you build out a unit? You could then have a feature of just the TV area which won't compete with the dining room wall too much since it will be a much smaller area. Maybe something like this stolen from Google. The central unit reminded me of yours a bit, plus there's tile! Something a bit more traditionally styled, could sneak in a little electric fire... Edited at 09:28 PM. |

Our house is Edwardian so we've tried to be modern with technology but sympathetic to the period of the house.
