Just ordered a new boat

I don’t mean to stealth brag but I have to share my excitement with my dibb family because I’ve been to the Southampton boat show today and bought a new boat.

The new boat has a steering wheel which is a great upgrade from my current boat (which doesn’t have a steering wheel).

I didn’t plan to buy a new boat but I fell in love with it and after checking my elderly mother’s saving account she has sufficient funds to finance the boat (some advantages to having power of attorney of your elderly parents finances).

I haven’t mentioned it to her just yet because she might worry that she won’t have enough money to keep warm again this winter because I turned her thermostat down to 15 degrees last winter because her savings account was getting low due to her having the heating on too high the previous winter.

That's really lovely Mickey and I'm sure that your mum will extremely happy for you. Why not take her for a spin on the Thames tomorrow so that she can see how much she appreciates it.

I have one a bit similar which I keep on my main boat in case I can't get into port. Portofino is so challenging these days.

I’ve given her my old duvet to keep warm when she’s watching TV. She asked what all the stains were on the duvet and I told her it was the pattern.

Mick, that’s a lovely boat and slightly bigger than mine (but size isn’t everything as I keep telling my wife).

I won’t mention the new boat to my elderly mother or she might check her savings account.

Mine doesn’t last too long before it needs a rest due to it being so small, whereas you can probably go a lot further with yours being its so big.
