She’s having fun, was off to IKEA when we last spoke. She’s loving spending time with her friends. Yes it costs a lot to kit them out but seeing them happy is the main thing, hope your daughter sorts out her diabetes meds and stays well x

My DD is starting her 2nd year, not moving away like others as her Uni is only a bus ride away, she is looking forward to hopefully a normal year after last year and be good to meet people face to face and start to go out socially, she has started going out now which I am pleased about after having her 18th in the first lockdown last April she’s making up for it.
Just hope they all get that Uni experience whether living away or travelling to Uni. Good luck to everyone🤞

DD is going into her 3rd year at Sheffield and is going back next week. She has been in London most of the summer with her boyfriend and has only been home for a few days. I'm going into my 2nd year of teacher training, it's going to be a shock having to go into campus most days and it will take me an hour or so each way which I'm not looking forward to. As a mature student I've been ok with online learning, but I can see how it has affected the younger students.
Good luck to everyone.

I think my daughter had a similar first year to yours Sandra 😢 She goes back on Sunday and hopefully this year will be a lot better and she will settle in her new house quickly.

Our youngest went back to St Andrews University 2 weeks ago. It's his second year as a Medical student.
Last year I was bad, so upset, so I know how you mums and dads are feeling. It's only natural xxx. I was bad last year, but not so much this year I've found. I'm just concentrating on his happiness - he really is exceedingly happy, and for that I'm grateful. He's moved out of halls into a student house with his best friend up there which is a really lovely place, I'm now good friends with this student's mum and we've met up a good few times so I've made a new pal As well as this, he has had a steady girlfriend up there now for 8 months, who is as equally studious as our boy, thankfully or it could have been a major distraction! He has recently joined the Medics Football team for St Andrews and has already been mentioned for captain when the current captain leaves, glad he has got back into football as he played at quite a high level before he went up there last year. He has lots of really nice friends from all over the world (his girlfriend is from Singapore! ), a fab social life, and his grades for last year were equivalent of a First class degree. I couldn't be any prouder. I miss him, yes, but I'm trying to concentrate on the positives and count his (my) blessings. Here's hoping this year is great for all of our Dibb students, freshers or returning, hope they all make good friends and have no dramas, and all excel - and if you ARE feeling sad, be kind to yourself, It DOES get better. Won't seem like 2 minutes until they are back for Christmas complete with bags of laundry and heading straight for the fridge to raid it!
