Mobile Ring compatible smoke alarm? Anybody have one?

We have ring cameras and alarm and I’m sure I saw that there was a compatible smoke alarm but can’t seem to find it for sale in the uk.

I think a z wave device would be compatible but I’m struggling to find out if the ones I’ve looked at will work with Ring.

I’ve gone into panic mode a bit as I came in from walking the dog earlier and could smell burning. Think I’ve tracked it down to the fridge which I’ve unplugged and trying to see if that was the issue. Got me thinking though that it would be a good idea to have a new smoke alarm that would alert our phones if we’re out.

Also just ordered a fire extinguisher, embarrassed to say we didn’t have one.

Any advice on wifi smoke alarms would be great, I hate the thought that the dog could be home alone and something happen.

I’ve got a Nest. Very nice piece of kit to be honest, when Mrs YTs cooking set it off the other day it didn’t just go off, it announces it will be starting soon and gives you the opportunity to cancel it. It also sends messages to your phone and will say things such as ‘smoke decreasing’. It offers a night light when you walk near it. As I have a Nest Thermostat, if it detects CO2 it will also shut the boiler down.

We’ve got Hive, I’ll have a look and see if they do one.

Thanks

I have a nest one too, sounds like the same as YT’s. I also have a hardwired monitored one but wanted something that would alert me too if I wasn’t home

Looks like there isn’t a hive alternative.

I’ve found a z wave one that has an app on Amazon so will give that a go and see if I can get it to work with Ring. If not I’ll just use the standalone app.

On a side note, hats off to Samsung who are sending an engineer for a free assessment of my fridge even though it’s 15 years old. They’ll advice if it’s repairable or not.
