The weather is great at both times a year. The beauty of Southern California. 😃In The spring is there is chance of a little bit of rain and more onshore flow. The summer Is hot especially further inland. Meaning there is a difference between Anaheim and San Diego. It is totally different heat from FL.

In terms of crowds, the summer will be busier. School holidays are run by districts and dependent on what track kids are on in some areas. For the traditional track, we always got out at the start of June. Usually around the 10th. Some kids got out a little earlier. Other parts of the country are totally different.

If I was choosing, say Spring break. Flights should be cheaper, weather is good (especially by Irish /Uk standards) , somewhat fewer crowds. Does that answer your question? 😃

Thank you, yes flights look quite reasonable for our Easter break, and good to know about the weather

Sorry to jump on, does anyone know if late august tends to see slightly decreased crowds if the schools return like in Florida?

No, not really. It's a locals park so in my experience weekdays are quieter but weekends in late August and early Sept (labour day weekend is very busy) are busy.

You usually have a window of opportunity (on weekdays - Tue/Wed/Thu) between the schools going back and Labor Day. I usually fly back to the Uk at the start of the Labor Day weekend as that’s when everything starts going mad again!

Easter can be cool - especially in San Diego (but June is the coolest month) - LA has a much more even climate but San Fran is definitely cold in summer as its when they get most of the fogs - it can be freezing in the morning then scorching come afternoon or vice versa.
