2 Cars or 12 seater? 2022

Hey
Having read a few threads about the expense of hire cars at the moment and doing a bit of cost research I’m questioning whether 2 cars would work out slightly cheaper. This is for Oct / Nov 2022
The cheapest for 2 weeks for 12 seater has been around £2900 this is with factoring in say 11 days x $22 parking
Then 2 x 5 seater factoring in double parking comes to around £1570
There is the added expense of fuel too but am I missing something or is the price of a 12 seater no longer cost effective?
It’s been about 5 years since I last visited 🙂

Before i read your post I was going to say 1 car be better as will have double parking costs but if thats been factored in I would say get 2 cars, petrol is cheap as chips anyway, seems a huge saving.

Also factor in if all 12 people want to do the same thing at same time, what about to and from airport. 2 cars may be more expensive but there are a few advantages as well

We always go with 2 cars when there is a big group as it gives flexibility if not everyone wants to be in the same place at the same time! Probably would give you more luggage room too

Definitely opt for 2 cars.

We travelled as a family of 9 a few years ago and for part of the trip we had a 12 seater. It was a pain because not everyone wanted to do the same things. We switched to 2 cars half way through the trip and it was much better.
