Went to a migraine specialist
Did you suffer from motion sickness as a child , do you have really bad headache with hangover . I do but thought that was normal . Both these indicate a tendency to migranes.
Also day before migraine you are likely to be yawning excessively. The trick he said is to catch it before it catches you . When you get the yawning - you should take 2 paracetamol- 2 neurofen and one migraine tablet over counter - it works .

You will know the difference between a migraine and a headache instantly. They are completely different and another level. If you’re not sure, it’s probably bad headaches.

I suffer with tension headaches when stressed. Usually one side or a tightening. Feels a bit like a hangover actually. They can stay for weeks depending on stress levels.

I also suffer with migraines. Not pinpointed the cause yet. They start with visual disturbances (aura) - my vision is like a kaleidoscope. They then subside and the pain starts. It is unreal, all over intense pain and I always vomit, sometimes close to passing out. Ended up in A&E with the last one having an injection for the pain. Not nice and wouldn’t wish them on anyone.

ETA my eyes seem to droop a little also with migraines

I’ve never heard anyone mention this before but I always know when I’m going to get a migraine because I start yawning excessively. When I’ve mention it to people they always look at me like I’m talking rubbish 😆. So, I’m glad you’ve mentioned it and it’s not just me imagining it!

Excessive yawning is an indicator for me too.

Thanks for all your replies, after reading all your experiences, it’s definitely not migraine. So probably just tension headache but can be bit unpleasant at times xx

Check your bloodpressure if you can. I had intense headaches recently - always same sort of place at top of my head and very different to anything I have had before and also pain in eye socket. Eventually I had it checked out after going with it for weeks and my bloodpressure was really high so they put me on meds and the headache has nearly gone. I hve a BP monitor at home but hadnt made the connection at all and hadnt checked my bp for a long time (naughty as I have bp issues).

DD started getting migraine when she was eight. She complained her head was hurting and I said something about a headache she replied “no it’s not a headache it’s a pain in my head here” pointing above her eye. I knew then she had migraine.

Just an update and I think the reason for feeling so bad with the headaches is that I am reducing my Anti-d tabs, very slowly but the symptoms of this is 100% what I have been experiencing over the past few weeks. I will give GP a call and see what they suggest, but yesterday was really bad, so bad I ended up going for a sleep around 5pm. I am on 50mg of Setraline, does any dibber have any experience of this tablet

Shirley I am on sertraline and have been for a while. I recently reduced my dosage and have a permanent headache. I didn’t link the two, I thought is was lack of sleep and stress. But maybe it is from reducing sertraline, so maybe the headaches will go soon? Thank you for giving another reason for my permanent headache.
