Upgrade at airport

I have booked a full size SUV + full insurance with VH

my question is i would like to upgrade to the luxury SUV, but as VH don't offer this class at the of booking has any one upgraded out of class car ait the airport?

I emailed Alamo and was told that i could not upgrade as i was using a 3rd party company, i did try at Miami airport counter in 2018, but after waiting an hour they tried to quote me for the full 4 weeks of the booking,

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe I've heard before of "tipping" at the garage with a request, can sometimes catch you a better model/upgrade.
At the counter, they are paid commission to upsell. So not likely to get any bargains there. However, at the garage, they are basically a Concierge showing you to your vehicle. Mr. Tom may know more.

TBH I would not recommend this at all if there�s an exact model in the class your after this would be an option but not a way to get an upgrade.
You can pay at the desk depending on how many they have in the class your after will dictate price it can sometimes be expensive sometimes very cheap I�ve been quoted anything from �100 for 14 day hire as a upgrade to 1400 for the same upgrade up to you if you want to pay always worth telling them I�ll pay�.then it�s there choice
