Villa resorts overrun with Spring breakers?
Hi,
I have been researching villas for our trip next summer and have googled reviews of different Villa Resorts and so disappointed to read how these beautiful homes and areas are being deemed unsafe, dirty, over run and vandalised by local renters. I have read recent reports on Tripadvisor of Solana, Solterra, The Retreat at Championsgate and Windsor at Westside all stating the same thing... DO NOT GO. Has anyone else heard about this and do any villa owners know of these issues that seem to be very common this summer? It seems to be that due to Covid reducing the numbers of international visitors, local youngsters are renting the properties for "party weekends" and causing mayhem. I would hope this wouldn't be a problem next year as long as international visitors are finally let in by Biden, but I am now nervous of what we could be renting? Any thoughts please? |

These weekend parties have been going on for a few years - I blame AirBNB.

It has been a problem since Covid and villa rental was again allowed
It’s mostly the bigger homes on resort style communities and owners of these homes taking 2/3 night bookings over the weekends I do know local law enforcement and loads of owners and property managers are no longer taking 2/3 night or in state bookings but some of the huge homes that are being built now are really mini hotels sometimes taking 20 plus renters It has improved this summer compared to last with the US opening up more |

Thanks for the info, it's making us very nervous to book as reading about how its completely ruined people's stays and the local sheriffs have been called in but no one doing anything.
Hopefully it won't be so much of an issues next year. |

We stayed at Solterra in Dec 2019. The villa we were in had 14 bedrooms (we rented ours via Airbnb).
Other villas on the resort had large family groups who were having late night pool parties. I don't think the problem is limited to Spring Break. |
