Shifu totally get the last part, we used to comment on the difference in CMs, Disney ones always "seemed" to be having fun yet Uni,BG etc they all seemed like the were having a bad day, now IMO there is no difference! We even had 1 mousekeeper that would fold DS' pjs in a fan & sit his little bear ( that bear - Chubby- went everywhere & we still have it) on top, it was those little interactions that made the difference. But of course Disney is a business & certainly post 9/11 they have cut thousands of jobs but like industry the world over don't cut the work load.
We own DVC so have loved the likes of DME, basically allowing us to either have no car or a car for a portion of the holiday. Disney transport is great but I'm not convinced on how much time it saves plus even there they have cutback outside of peak times. We also go offsite a lot, eating, shopping, other parks so really for us the "Bubble" isn't this big massive thing but again throwing this one out there Compare that feeling to the free express pass feeling for staying at one of the top tier Uni hotels At the end of the day we all have to presuade ourselves that the 1000's of £ we all spend are totally worth it! For us the 3 main benefits to staying on site (in a moderate, Deluxe prices are way beyond us) are
- no driving in an unfamiliar car in an unfamiliar country, or at end of a tiring long day. - great pool right by the room and complimentary evening family entertainment -films, campfires, mini golf, etc. - crucial for me... No expectation that I will cook for the whole trip 😆 In a villa I would end up preparing meals as it would be cheaper and easier. We're early risers so will also make the most of the early morning half hour, and enjoy the bubble feeling.
