I bought a used Garmin USA sat nav with life time maps from Ebay for our California road trip. It let me down in San Diego so ended up buying a new one from Walmart. So now I have two.

Will take both of them to Florida next year so I can find out if the used one is working after I completeley wiped it and reloaded all of the maps.

Even the new one couldn't find the ranch we stayed at next to the Grand Canyon. I did print off maps for each leg of the journey using Mapquest and that got us there.

Sat nav was very good everywhere else.

The 27 is only a couple of miles from the hire car garage at MIA and it's toll free dual carriageway all the way to the WDW area.

Ahh thanks I had no idea it was that easy. We wanted a sat nav for both the miami to orlando journey and also getting around orlando.

Yes he does

But OP is doing a fly-drive so car is from the holiday company.

I use my phone with Waze. Followed directions from Atlanta to the 192 no problem. Waze even told me a police presence ahead. Sure enough a cruiser in the middle with a speed trap set up. For the 3 week trip used less than 1gb of data. I am on the 3 network

Ahh thanks that is so good to know. I might get a 3 sim and use waze then as we use it now. Both on giffgaff atm so no idea if that would work in the us. I will have to look it up.

Just be aware that new three sims purchased after the 1st October 2021 do not include roam like home on pay monthly. Only on pay as you go I beleive going forward.
