Universal split stay
Hi. Thinking of possibly Cabana Bay with a 2night Hard Rock stay too as a treat. How is the best was to go about it please? If we wanted to do it mid stay do you just keep Cabana Bay and book 2 nights at HRH on top? (If that makes sense 😁 thank you x

I have a voucher for RPH for 1 night from 2020. We are hoping to go June 2022 and stay in IDrive for 10 nights and Sapphire Falls for 4 nights.
I'm thinking I might stay at RPH the first week, to do most of the things we want to with Express Passes then just have a more relaxing stay at Sapphire Falls. Watching your thread with interest to see what others think! |

I know with a Disney/Universal split stay, many Dibbers would keep their Disney booking throughout as it made sense with the free dining offer as the value of this would offset the extra cost of being double booked. But for two Universal hotels that don't have offers attached, I think it comes down to budget more than anything else. If you get a good rate at CB, it saves you the hassle of packing everything up. But if HRH is a splurge that you'd be stretching the budget for, that £300ish for 2 nights at CB is a lot to pay effectively for luggage storage.

Yeah, it saves wasting hours packing and checking back in to your initial resort. Costs more obviously in the long run, but a much smoother experience, and, for me having a less stressful time is certainly worth that cost.
If I was in your shoes going by the other posts you’ve done around this, it’s exactly what I’d do. You then get to experience the Express Pass etc ( think I may have said this to you already, sorry if so), but adults can go into the faster rides quicker too whilst those that don’t want to experience the Hulk look in the shop etc instead with the remaining adult ( that’s what we did). Also better than doing the deluxe at either end of your stay… if you did that you’d lose out on a full day pass. The thing I’m unsure about 100% ( someone here will know) is checking into HRH having already kickstarted your universal park tickets whilst at CB. I’ve only ever gone to HRH from Disney so our park tickets are brand new when putting them into the machine in the hotel lobby ti get the express pass and photo done. That would be my only ‘check that bit out’ point. I can’t see why it would be an issue but because I’ve not done that myself I can’t be 100%. |

5 nights or more get a better rate so you might want to keep cabana bay.
Hard rock will move your luggage to a non express pass hotel but the other way round you need to do it yourself. We did a night at RPR in Feb when we were at Aventura and just took backpacks. For Feb we’ve booked cabana bay, hard rock then sapphire falls, I’m happy to split stay as we’ve done it a lot. We booked this all with BA along with our flights.
