Just done the same, as before the system wouldn’t let me book more than 11 months out, we shall wait and see, maybe a glitch who knows, not lost anything either way. Can only come back and say I’m to early.

officially flights are out 11 months ahead, but there is no reason why they cant book further if they wanted too. They let VH provisionally book seats, so they obviously have some sort of system in place.

Hopefully its not a web bug and they are letting people rebook.

That's the same logic I'd follow. If I booked with VH I could book the flight I need now so there's no reason why they can't do it.

My logic was there's no harm in trying. The worst they can do is tell me I'm too early. As has been said, they should legally allow us to rebook within a year as they've cancelled, so I've got everything crossed.

Their blurb after submitting did say they'd contact me within 7 days.

Spoke to VS via watsapp.

If you want flights that are outside of the 11 month booking window then you have to convert to a open ticket. You can then book upto end April 2023 with no fee or fare difference.

Once you take the open ticket however, you will loose the right to a refund.

This is what I was told just now on Watsapp

Virgin Holidays are given an allocation that they can sell for each flight once that is gone that's it. That is the reason why if you have booked through them you can't choose your actual seat number/position if you want to do so until 330 days out.

We were cancelled today and rebooked for end of March on the first direct EDI flight, upper flights (PE cash then vouchers) moved into the last 4 UC seats with no cost diff (thankfully as they said they were over £23k). Really pleased with that.

Thanks for that.

I don't know if that's a good thing or not.

I guess good for me, if we get August 2022 flights for the price of September 2021 flights.

However, there's the fact that should something happen to Virgin Atlantic, there's no Credit Card protection any more, so for all intents and purposes it's a risk I lose £3k.

If that's what they're doing I'll hang on till the flights are out and then move them and keep the chance to a refund.
