We are booked to fly December 12th.
I actually cancelled my Disney tickets a couple of weeks ago and the 3 nights we had booked in the contemporary. I haven’t cancelled the holiday with BA yet as if they cancel I will get my deposit back in cash and my seats that I booked. I am in two minds though that if it isn’t cancelled do we still go and just have a holiday without parks, but I’m sure it would make me very depressed not to be in Disney. |

We've all but given up hope for our November 6th flight. There just doesn't seem to be the appetite to open up for us. Of course, as we've seen here and vloggers like Yaz and Ash, where there's a will there's a way - but it's beyond the most normal folk to be able to circumnavigate the system to get a couple of weeks with the Mouse.
Whilst I dread the day, I just hope my TA will cancel and we can plan a Scottish road trip instead! We will likely book for November next year but will wait until we know that we can definitely fly (and the virus looks to be in some kind of control) before doing so. What the last 18 months of limbo has taught me is that being in limbo is absolutely no fun whatsoever. If a miracle happens, then I guess we'll have to go, but I just don't see it happening. |

Sadly, I don't think that an increased number of rumors means there's something going on. I think people often make up rumors when they don't hear what they want to hear from creditable sources.
With that being said, I personally feel that direct travel to the US will be on again next Spring. I have no insider information with Mr. Biden, but that's my gut feeling from this side of the water. |

Having had our original flights cancelled 7 times we moved them to June next year. Still have flights booked for 23 November and whether we fly on them or have to do the third country route, we WILL be going! Can't really afford to do do that option but we haven't seen our family since February 2020 and I miss them so much it's making me ill. Don't get me started on what I think about Biden and his ban

The other thing for me is that I booked my March trip to be for the Spring RunDisney event and although I haven't purchased my entrance to that yet, when I do it's non-refundable. I do wonder if I can get that back via Section 75 with a creditcard though if we are still banned by Biden.

We have a lot to work through with Covid and a lot of realisations to be made before we can even know what to work through. That's not to say the border will never open, but we are certainly not in the "jobs done" phase from a cautious political viewpoint.
I'm putting my wager on Spring 22, but I'd also put a wager on July 21 at the beginning of this year, and that came and went... I'm willing to bet that as a benchmark, we'd at least need to have made a start on: - Getting to 12-17 age range for vaccination - Started 3rd jab booster at least for vulnerable - Not be in the middle of a large wave either side of the Atlantic - Have a clearer picture of variant frequency and severity - Have a clearer picture of long-term vaccine efficacy - Both countries have more confidence about impact of travel Will these things be "sorted" in 8 months? I'm not sure. But i'll stick with a cautiously optimistic Spring prediction, for now... |
