French health pass for 12-17 after 30th September

Hi

I'm planning on travelling to France in October with three teens (16, 16, 17). They'll all have had one dose of the Pfizer jab as they don't get two jabs yet at that age in the UK

France are changing the rules on 12-17 year olds after 30th September - they have to have a health passport, therefore be double jabbed to go in most public places. The French are vaccinating 12-17 year olds twice to meet this target.

Do you think this will be reconsidered for tourists? It's throwing our plans into doubt now as I can't realistically have my kids PCR tested every 2-3 days of the hol just so they can go out.

I’m not going until next year but if still in place I will use C19 testing antigen tests, do the tests in hotel room and upload photo for a certificate with QR code. £29 each test.

Does it have to be a pcr? Has that changed? I thought it could be a LFT?

Today, I’m feeling very negative about being able to go. If there is a talk of a circuit breaker lockdown in October half term, wouldn’t surprise me if there isn’t one in February.☹️

Edited at 10:37 PM.

Thanks so much! I haven't been abroad since 2019 so all this testing is new to me. If they can do an approved LFT that will be amazing, Thanks!

I’ve just looked on DLP site and antigen is accepted.

As a previous poster said, an antigen test will be accepted. Teens also need a test within 24 hours before arrival into France so that should cover most of our trip when I go with DS in October.

In France they really like a QR code to check your vaccine and test status.
Our Scottish paper certificates took a bit of explaining (luckily this is now rectified) and a photo ID.
It’s best if everyone has the french covid app. Then you can easily scan the QR code on your test certificate and it’s uploaded to the app.
Some companies don’t have a QR codes on the test certificates, of the ones I’ve used recently C-19 did, but Qured and Chronomics didn’t .

Hi, I'm considering going with DS who will be 13 or 14 depending when we go which will definitely be some time after 30th September. He won't be jabbed. Do children this age need to be jabbed then? Thanks

No but they will need a test in the 24 hours before arriving in France and one every 72 hours for the health pass, plus a test before coming back to the UK. We are only going for two nights so we will be testing the day before we go and this should cover most if not all of our time there, including the return test.
