WDW cast members lose their parks..

It seems a lot of cast members at WDW are soon to lose a lot of their benefits.

This is a sound plan, I mean are not struggling to hire people right now? Seems the best solution is offer them less perks as a way to get them to sign up.

Maybe they can offer them some kind of upcharge that comes right out the end of month pay in order to get discounts.

"We are opening the "not our cast memebers genie discount plan" for $10 a day (removable at source) we offer our 3d party cast members get discounts on all food and merch. We listened to our dwindling work force and this is what they wanted. We believe this offers great flexibility"

Cut cut cut...

It's only "third party" cast members who will be affected.

How many cast members are hired directly by Disney?

I can't find a split between direct and contracted, but most of Epcot is operated by third party vendors and obviously Disney Springs. Then there are contractors for things like construction and garden maintenance, and all of the Reedy Creek services. That's just off the top of my head, so it's probably a substaintial number that will be impacted.

It's incredibly bad timing though, with all industries struggling to get enough employees through the door. Benefits are a key way to attract people in.
