Florida after cancer/insurance and life with a wig

Great news that you can fly. I finished chemo for breast cancer last May and we flew out in the August I got my insurance with Admiral and it’s not much more than I was paying before cancer - the wig, which I loved - I hated the headscarves, the wig just made me feel more like me but it only lasted for a few hours before it was packed away until I flew home - I would never have gone out without it at home but the heat was just too much out there I literally lost all hair, eyelashes, eyebrows and a few nails so I looked like uncle fester (no one told me to expect that) 🤢. A year on and I have a severe case of chemo curl to cope with, its curlier than when I used to perm it in the 80’s but hey it’s hair 🤨. If you can stand the heat then maybe wig tape to keep it on, I hope the chemo tablets are going to be an easier ride than IV chemo for you.

I’m so glad you’ve got your insurance sorted. No advice regarding wigs, but just want to say you (and others facing the C word) are truly courageous. I hope you have an absolutely wonderful holiday. Sending hugs & 🧚 dust your way.
