US Pre Clearance and Dublin
Just sailed through pre clearance. What a good experience. Officer was so friendly and let my girls stamp their own passports ❤️. If you get the opportunity to do this then I highly recommend.

Sounds great - who are you flying with? Is it Aer Lingus?

We prefer Dublin to either Gatwick or Heathrow (don’t do Manchester..ever!)
USCBP there has always been great for us, no longer than 10 mins and always friendly. We have used American and Aer Lingus from Dublin, both are good, but prefer Americans cabin, I find the Aer Lingus bed with the feet in a box a bit uncomfortable, but the price is always good

That’s great news ... we are flying from Gatwick via Dublin in Feb ... it’s our first indirect flight so brilliant to hear it’s a simple process xx

Can I ask how long it took to get thru immigration as they have given us a 85 min layover and I’m worried how slow immigration is

We always travel Nov/Dec and our normal experience in recent years has been quickly through pre-clearance. Not last year though, we must have been the best part of an hour in the queue and it was around 1pm so the morning rush was well over. It was the Saturday before Thanksgiving but yet most of those waiting didn't seem to be Americans (judging by the passports they were holding only). Dublin is definitely becoming more popular as a hub though.

If you originate from DUB to MCO via another UK airport do you still do pre-clearance in DUB?
