UK Insurance for DVC rentals

Looking at options for my twice rescheduled trip to WDW in October 2022. With standard WDW pricing continue to increase with fewer benefits, I was looking at renting DVC points which are much better value.

With the COVID situation going on longer than many expected, there is an obvious risk around booking DVC points so is there any specific insurance available to people from the UK to cover costs if we were to have to cancel (for COVID or any other reason)?

Looked at this a while back but it's classed as timeshare and insurance won't cover you.
Also if you try to move the dates on because UK may put in restrictions it will only depend on wether USA customers can't go either
Have a look on dvc rental store they have a cancellation policy so worth having a look

Thanks Mike - I remember looking a while ago and David's had something but looking now, they say " cancellations, upgrades and date modifications are not permitted" and to find travel insurance.

Great value though this is, in the current world it might just be too much of a risk.

I would ask your insurers because there is a difference between a loss to you & a loss to me for instance:
Former then technically all I've lost is points
Latter you have suffered a financial loss & really there is only really the former that is a "timeshare" booking & no different to an AirBnB IYKWIM

The joys of the current COVID world

- a couple of years ago you wouldn't really have considered renting points from someone reputable as a risk whereas now, there is so much outside of our own control that could throw major spanners into the works.
