I’m so happy you had a lovely post Christmas Christmas
One thing I think lots have learnt is how important and precious our families and time together are now 😉

Fantastic! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time. We did the same thing a couple of weeks ago as our son and his fiancée both had Covid over Christmas - we had presents under the tree, crackers and party poppers - the whole lot.

A few years ago, we recorded a CD of Christmas music with our church choir. We held a full carol service to record carols with the congregation singing. Everyone wore a Christmas jumper, and we served mince pies and mulled wine at the end - in May

We did have a full Christmas dinner at Christmas, but yesterday we had a Christmas dinner and in the evening we watched A Christmas Carol.
We bought a couple of turkeys after Christmas as they were reduced alot, so decided to use one up. We had turkey sandwiches today and have turkey and salad tonight.

I hope you’re having a lovely Christmas weekend! Dementia is just so cruel. We visited the in-laws the week before Christmas and cooked an early Christmas dinner. FIL is 93 and still has all his faculties, but MIL (88) has dementia. I gave her a ‘day off’ while I was cooking and told her to put her feet up. I think she felt a bit guilty and when it came to washing up, she said she would dry up. I thought I can’t banish her from her own kitchen (even though it’s easier as she gets so confused in her short term memory), but while drying up she said to me “I’ve never noticed before, but your kitchen is almost identical to mine!” 🙁 My heart just crumpled for her. A few minutes later she realised she had been in her kitchen. I tried to reassure her as it must’ve just been the fact that she’s not used to seeing me in her kitchen (we live 200 miles away &#128577. Hope you continue to have a lovely weekend.

I hope you all had a great (if late) celebration. We've yet to sort our second chance Christmas, having had this last one stolen by COVID.

Fingers crossed we find a time when we are all infection free!

Happy Christmas! I missed seeing this earlier, so I'm glad you had a lovely day with your children and enjoyed Boxing Day and your mum's birthday all in one!

A belated Merry Christmas!

I hope the dinner was delicious; the presents were perfect and the games were, indeed, very silly!

I'm sorry things aren't easy for/with your mum; I hope you both managed to enjoy some valuable time together anyway.
