It's so lovely to see lots of happy booking threads! 2022 definitely looks more positive now, so we've bitten the bullet and made a small booking for August too.
We plan to add further dates in Sept when our DVC window opens. It's great having a countdown again.

Like everyone, we had various holidays cancelled last year and didn’t go anywhere. This year we’ve booked UK breaks. I hadn’t really considered next year and felt quite complacent about whether we would go anywhere or not.

But a friend and fellow Dibber booked a Disney resort last night, and I took a passing interest in her booking 🤣 and chatted about it to DH and DD and guess what? I’ve booked 5 nights at Caribbean Beach resort for next July.

We may change the date if DH can book time off in work for September (but he can’t do that until January) and feel we will probably have 5 nights on-site with the dining credits and booking incentives, then 9 nights offsite and get Universal tickets too. We’d like to eat offsite more as we’ve not done that much in previous trips and we also want to visit KSC which we would book a coach trip for as we will use Uber to get around when we are offsite. We are also really excited to see Galaxy’s Edge as our last trip was in 2018.

I won’t be booking offsite hotel or flights until January as we could possibly change the dates then. It’s still exciting to think that we are actually going back though, and will celebrate our wedding anniversary and DD’s 21st and DH’s 60th a year later than we planned. Sorry for the long post but I just feel happy to have plans again. If there’s one thing we’ve learnt this year it’s to enjoy our time while we can and make the most of life
So happy you have booked 🙂

I really want to book after my cancelled 2020 trip, but I am trying to hold off until if becomes clearer what will happen with testing going forward... There is no way I can tolerate the throat swab test with my anxiety so until testing stops I think I am holidaying in the UK! Hopefully I will be able to go in 2022 though 🙂

We have stayed in Universal hotels before and also the Doubletree at Seaworld for a couple of nights on previous trips and we managed fine without a car using the i trolly and Uber.

Happy planning
We could possibly get 2 rooms for our offsite stay too so Georgia can have a break from us 😂 No doubt I will be asking for tips for a nice hotel within reasonable distance of both Disney and Universal soon. I think we’ve decided we want one with a nice pool area too for some rest time. We’ve found Uber and Lyft very convenient for offsite trips on our previous trips too and I think it works out cheaper than a hire car. Never used the i trolley but will look into that too. So much planning to do 😂

It is so good to see booking and planning threads again. Which resort have you booked?

I’m really expecting to change ours to September as we prefer the weather then and it will probably be easier then to avoid any clash of Georgia’s graduation ceremony, but for now I’m just pleased to see a booking in place

DH is looking forward to relaxing by the pool. He’s not so keen on the parks as DD and I so he will come into the parks with us for some of the time but snooze by the pool when he needs a break

The skyliner sold us CBR as opposed to CSR, we’ve not stayed there before so it will be nice to try a different resort. Although like the date, the resort may change. I’ve only booked me in so far so just paid the £50 deposit so will make changes when we’ve made a definite plan.
Technically I have a trip booked for this summer. We check in to CBR on 31st July. We don't have any flights though so that could be a problem! I'm just waiting to see what happens if the summer trip doesn't go ahead I will likely switch to October half term. I'm hoping to get to wdw this year then next year do a west coast trip. But if this year doesn't go ahead then the lure of wdw will be strong. So it's a kind of wait and see really.

That’s why I’ve stayed with UK breaks for this year too. I really hope things will have changed by next year and the fact that we will all be fully vaccinated and, possibly getting our regular booster jabs by then, will mean that testing won’t be needed.

Although by next year it will be 2 years since we’ve travelled overseas so I would possibly just try to force myself to be brave enough to take the test for a Disney trip

Thank you Claire, it’s cheered me up no end to have a plan (albeit a very loose plan at the moment 😂 )
