It was utter chaos and we very nearly lost a C-17 on departure from Kabul because of that. A lot of criticism has been levelled at the MOD - but 15000 people are now much safer than they were thanks to the efforts of the RAF and British Army. Aircraft were taking off with 2-3 times (4-5 times in the cases of the US Air Force) the number of passengers they’re cleared for - passengers who didn’t have any clothes or shoes because they’d been stood in sewerage for several days trying to access the airfield. All of this being conducted against the background threat that claimed the lives of 13 US troops and dozens of civilians.

I don’t think anyone didn’t want Pen, his staff and the animals to get out. People were just sad that we couldn’t get more out. More women who will now lose the freedoms they’ve been allowed to enjoy in recent years, more children who will now never have the opportunity to be educated, more men who have worked hard to keep ISAF forces safe who will now likely be executed. I don’t see how that’s a witch hunt. It’s just disappointment in a finite amount of resource whilst still being fiercely proud of the men and women of our Armed Forces who did the best they could in some pretty shoddy circumstances.
Don't twist my meaning hunny, you've seen nothing to what devastation my DH has seen over his career...
No need to bring up about women and children either
.
My comment was regarding Pen nothing else

I’m not getting drawn into this with you. You know absolutely nothing about my career or the experiences I’ve had - so please don’t comment as if you do. You also don’t know the things I’ve had to help my husband deal with either - so it’s a bit insensitive.

I don't know no about you, but I also know as my DH was special forces for over 30+years what he has seen and dealt with regardng war zones so I don't appreciate the preaching, that's all.
Goodnight
