Sangria and a tray of crisps. Benalmadena Nov 21. Pre travel day/airport hotel.

Wednesday 24th November.

Index
Our train was booked at 2.40 pm leaving us plenty of time to sort out last bits and not rush.
The build up to this holiday was quite stressful, I had worked the weekend before and then my sister got a call to collect mums ashes on the Monday. My two sisters and I did this, (one of them travelled from Leicester) the funeral directors were actually really rude and insensitive but I won’t go into that.
Anyway it was nice just to have the morning to relax a little although we popped to collect a parcel and then to Asda for a meal deal to take.
I had asked a friend to service the car while we were away so dropped the keys off then took the bus into town for lunch just at spoons. It was heaving so we ordered a drink first.

Then snagged a table.

We walked to the train station, our friends Tracy and Paul were getting on at a later stop. This train would take us to Norwich, always have to change there and then direct to Stansted.
Had a cheeky one.

We had a short wait so popped into the co op. We were pleased to see tables on the stansted train.

It was an easy journey and arrived on time at 5.40.
Walked to the shuttle buses, our luck was in as one in the bay already waiting. This was £4 each one way. Hotel was the premier inn, second stop.
Checked in easily, sorry forgot photos of the room but it was very nice and the bar was lovely. It wasn’t too expensive, around £5 for a pint and you can double up for £1, handy to know.
We had a couple of drinks while we filled out the Spanish forms. This was going well until the WiFi failed and I couldn’t get any 4G, I had a little strop and ended up filling it in on Matts phone. Paul hates all this pre departure stuff so was swearing a little. His and Matts form didn’t ask for as much details as mine and Tracy’s, remember this for tomorrow.
We went to bed at about 10ish.
Matt and I ate our meal and watched an old bake off, still miss Mary Berry. Alarm set for 4am.

Edited at 02:02 PM.

Hope you have a wonderful trip to ease your loss 💞 Good start to the journey although the form filling seemed a bit stressful, I’m pleased you got it done in the end. My DH would be like Matt, he hates form filling. In fact, he’d probably get me to do his as well as my own 😂

Got there on the end but don’t think I’ll be waiting until the airport hotel next time. 🤣

Thank you, it’s a faff but not enough to put us off booking again.
