Total Covid Confusion - Help welcome!

Hi All,

After rebooking x4 times, we're finally going on the 27th December!

As most, I'm struggling to absorb the COVID information & after two days of being on hold with VA (2 hrs a time), I'm resulting to asking the professionals.

My questions are, if anyone can kindly assist are below:

1) If we're flying on the 27th December & it's covid testing 3 days prior to the DEPARTURE date, what dates would this include? 24th, 25th & 26th? Or 25th, 26th & 27th?

Obviously with it being Xmas, we'll be limited to when we can visit somewhere or partake in one of the video calls.

2) Can anyone recommend a video telehealth company to use that's accepted by VA & the US?

Thanks so much! Much appreciated!

1 - Your travel day is considered day 0. So it's the 3 calendar days leading up to that, so any time 24th-26th is fine for a flight on the 27th. You could even test on the 27th prior to check in if you really wanted to cut it down to the wire, but would recommend earlier if you can.

2 - I went with an in person test, but the Breathe Assured video test was used by VS075 without any issues, they were on the first MCO flight (on VS75 - user name checks out) after the borders opened. There's a thread here with their experience if you'd like more info. Several other Dibbers have since done the same, have seen no issues reported.

I think lots of places are open over Christmas as they need to be available for passengers both in and out

We are also flying on the 27th Dec and have booked Breathe Assured tests for Christmas Eve! I am not sure what I was thinking booking flights for that day when I know I can't avoid people over the few days before but fingers crossed all will be well!

Good luck!

Thank you! I should be ok myself as I just had covid last week and am now testing negative on lateral flow, so should have good immunity. My husband didn't catch it from me so I am hoping that has shown his immunity is good too - but who knows? - I won't be convinced until we are in the air on the way! We both have had double vaccinations and the booster as well.

Our booking was our Aug 2020 trip moved to Aug 2021 then Dec 21 - I think when I re-booked it I didn't really expect it to go ahead so didn't think through the practicalities!

Anyway fingers crossed for all of us travelling at that time!

We're (hopefully) flying on Boxing Day and have supervised tests booked with Qured on 24th Dec. I've just checked and they don't have any appointments on Christmas Day.

Verifly will allow us to upload a test result from midnight on 23rd Dec until 4 hours before the flight. So, using that logic, you'd be able to have tests from Christmas Eve onwards.
