Ddp 2021?

On other forums and Facebook groups I’ve seen people saying with 100% conviction that there will be no free ddp 2021 or 2022.

Is this fact or fiction? I know there’s rumours every year and has been for years that it will stop. But some people are staking their life on it for the 50th anniversary. Have I missed an announcement or is it purely TAs scare mongering etc

Until Disney announce their packages I’d says it’s all speculation. Anyone really in the know about what Disney are planning would probably keep their mouth shut!

It's all still speculation and we won't really know until next April time when Disney release their 2021 offer. The 2020 offer definitely had more restrictions than before, but who knows what will happen with the US economy, visitor numbers etc that will all factor in to what Disney do for 2021.

Hopefully Disney bookings are down for the 2020 dates were they are not offering free ddp in the uk. Apparently they run the uk holidays section as a separate enterprise according to a csm in Disney this year. I’m not sure of the percentage of UK customers, I’m sure someone mentioned 5%. However if they realise that fddp is a major reason people are staying onsite from the uk they would be stupid to stop it. The real profits are getting us to stay in their overpriced hotels and spending on extra merchandise. When we are off site we tend to spend most of our money away from Disney. If onsite most of our purchases are in Disney stores and in the springs.

Anyone saying definitely yes it’s ending is talking rubbish. No one knows. This rumour happens every year. Absolutely no reason to suggest there won’t be. If they were going to stop it logically it would have been for 2020 when Galaxies Edge opened. They didn’t but had they less dates. I’d be surprised if it went.

I’m thinking there a two factors working in favour of it at the moment. First, and most importantly, Disney will know the exchange rate isn’t looking great at the moment so a US holiday will be relatively more expensive. Even if U.K. are only 5% that’s a 5% Disney want to encourage and will know free dining is a good incentive. Second, free dining seems to have been extended in the US which suggests Disney see it as an important tool to fill rooms. Fingers crossed!

I was absolutely “certain” that there would be no free dining 2020 and look how wrong I was, sure it was more limited and we could not get the hotel we wanted but we still got it you just need to be a bit more flexible.

There’s rumours every year which I’ve always disagreed with. I don’t think they’ll be stopping free dining any time soon. They still need to offer incentives for people to holiday there.
