Cruises storms/hurricanes
So I know these can happen for a good few months of the year but what if one happened whilst you were out at sea. I presume they know they are coming so can change direction...

Exactly that - a change of itinerary to keep the ship away from any danger and ensure it’s not too uncomfortable for passengers. We once had a week’s cruise around Japan changed because of an approaching typhoon. We had two half days in port and spent the rest of the time sailing around the Yellow Sea!
