Just booked our first cruise
Well we've been researching cruises for our Florida 2020 trip, and in the process saw a 4-night trip with P&O departing Southampton and going to Bruges next August. Never been on a cruise before so seemed like the perfect opportunity to see if we like it, so have booked it this morning.

What ship are you booked on?
We have done a fjords cruise with P&O and are booked to the Baltics next summer. I think my only word of caution would be that the shorter cruises 2/3/4 nights are often "party" cruises and not a true reflection of how the longer cruises actually work. If you are on Facebook there are lots of groups associated with each ship. You can also book a 4/5 hr ship tour of your chosen trip - the number is on the P&O website. For £30 you get a tour and a VERY nice lunch! we make a weekend of it and have a couple of nights either side in Southampton. Im am sure you will love it. We loved our first one we went from a 7 nights fjords to a 15 night transatlantic and are heading out to the eastern med in November too! x x x |

Were sailing on the Aurora. I did see the Fjords trips but as we're mainly saving for Florida I needed to keep the costs down. I will definitely get Em to check out the Facebook groups.
We're likely to do a 1 week Caribbean cruise after WDW in 2020 but not sure who with yet.

We have done the P&O ship visit/ tour too in Southampton, it's great fun and I agree on the yummy lunch. If you book a cruise after taking it they have special offers, and even if you book within a year they will credit the cost of the tour back to you as on board credit.
I bet you'll love the mini cruise but do keep in mind as said above it will have a different atmosphere to a longer cruise. So if you enjoy it but think it was too busy and loud then do try a longer cruise, you might like that more! Our first cruise was 10 nights- so if we got on board and decided we didn't like it we were a bit stuck lol. Royal Caribbean also do short taster cruises out of Southampton so you could try them too and see who you like better. We're going on a 3 nighter in October Edited at 08:42 AM. |
