Wine recommendations
I would like to make my own ‘wine tasting’ gift hamper for a colleague. I am a complete wine Neanderthal though as I don’t drink the stuff myself, so am completely lost as to what to include. Please can anyone recommend a couple of bottles of reasonably priced wine, I’m thinking one white, one red that I could include please? Thank you.

What is your budget per bottle?

I have no idea about Reds sorry
For a white at a reasonable price I would suggest Mud House Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Down from £9 to £7 in Asda. Second choice would be Kiwi Cove Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. Also down in Asda from £8 to £6

If it is for a hamper gift how about a selection of miniatures. You can then have a nice variety. Asda have a good selection of them, each bottle contains one glassful.
The wine is 25% if 6 bottles in Asda too. Don’t think it works on the small bottles. I also like the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc.( Thanks Mr TM I will get down to Asda if there’s an offer on !) Husband drinks red and chooses Malbec but this is much too strong a taste for me. |

Do you have a Waitrose near you? They have a great offer on at the moment. Fine wines down to £10. I bought a lovely Argentinian Malbec (usual price £17.49) and my new favourite Mirabeau Rose, down from £15.

My favourite reds are Cabernet Sauvignon, or Temperanillo, both easy to drink and fruity. Aldi is my go to shop for wine, they have a great selection!
Great gift by the way.

Red Oyster Bay merlot is lovely. Usually it is £11-12, but currently £9 in Sainsburys.
