There can be no guarantees. You are travelling in what is hurricane season. (June through October) but remember it has been over a decade since Florida had a direct hit from a hurricane. If you say the hurricane season is 20 weeks a year that is over 200 weeks without a hurricane until Matthew. So whilst no one can say for certain that there would not be bad weather for the weeks you plan, statistically it is unlikely.
Two weeks earlier would not help or hinder your chances of good weather. Edited at 12:00 PM. |

OK so we are here during a hurricane atm which is pretty bad I guess but other than that we have had a couple hours rain the afternoon or evening. Yesterday was 93 degrees in epcot, we were glad of the rain. Some People that went on August had rain all the time this year. Choose the time u want to go and make the most of it when you are here. Most of the time the weather doesn't really affect your plans too much.

We were there 21/08-08/09 and other than the 2/3 days where the storm was there we just had the normal afternoon Florida showers, although for the first 7 days we didn't experience one drop of rain, j think maybe one night it rained overnight but that's it.
You can't control the weather anywhere in the world. I've been in Tenerife in August and it's chucked it down, also in Dec 2010 we were in Tenerife with a freak hurricane, Rome in Feb was 28' one day and hammering down the next. Honestly, is Florida, it's August, it will rain at some point. That you can be gaurenteed of! But, you might be just fine too! Try not to worry!

In 2014 we flew out on 4 October. The weather was absolutely glorious and there was only one day when it was a bit showery. This year we flew on 31st August. We had some rain almost every day, heavy at times thanks to hurricane Hermine. It was still warm and we still had a fantastic holiday. No guarantees, you just have to get on with it.

We are in Naples fl at the moment and we are unluckily enough to be having to contend with hurricane Matthew. It's out 12th time in Florida and we were also here when Wilma struck in 2005. It's just a chance you take anytime you book during May - Oct as others have said there are no guarantees unfortunately. April was a fantastic time for weather but so busy due to spring break, we have had rain in June and last year we did August and I said never again, very hot, very humid but lots of rain. For us October is our favourite time even if we have now had two hurricanes to contend with!

Been twice on exactly those dates .weather was ok a few storms but that's normal. But it is peak hurricane time .you take a chance . In 2004 we arrived just after Charley. Stayed near daytona. Had no power so no a/c for a few days .was difficult but went to beach to keep cool

We were in Tampa for Tropical Storm Debby in 2012 which wasn't particularly scary. However, the sheer amount of rain it dropped over 48hours was unbelievable. I've never seen weather like it.

One thing you are guaranteed is rain in Florida, it's all part of the fun. I doubt it would rain for the whole time you are there, you just need to have some contingencies in your plans. Just don't expect wall to wall sunshine whilst you are there.

I would stick with the dates you have , as it has been said there is no guarantee with Florida weather , its something you have to accept or go elsewhere where you can be a bit more certain with the weather . I do love Florida but we are hoping to try California next year just because our last experience wasn't so good weather wise in Orlando. I am sure we will be back though despite the rain!

Hurricane season runs from June to November, any time during those dates may be bad weather. Rain, wind, evacuation from the beaches. You are visiting a tropical climate.
No one here, at the travel agents or on any other forum can tell you that you will not be affected, you might, you might not. Travel is an adventure! |
