You still have to pay the tax portion though, don't you? That's over £400 on its own!
Exactly the question I was going to ask! I've got 43000 miles now and was hoping to use them for a flight rather than miles plus money.

It's personal choice, but due to the taxes and fees I'd recommend using miles for reward seats in PE or UC.

Mr Tom Morrow does Rebel - send him a message, he's very helpful and will reply. Don't waste too much time on him tho, the baldies are awaiting your presence

It won't change
Will stay exactly the same as you pay the miles for E and get an upgrade to PE for just the taxes.

You can use them for a flight but whether it is worth it is debateable by the time you add the taxes and airlines admin fees (ha!) . You can quite often find flights that are cheaper than these 'free' ones!

I'll leave him until he gets home, I don't want to disturb him applying his sun cream to his bald spot, I'd hate him to get burnt

Thanks Oliver, do you know if the amount payable has changed?

Seems Virgin have been playing catch up to BA. BA have had child accounts for eons (its one of the reasons we flew BA more when the kids where younger), and also went peak/off-peak for redemption.

I only just managed to get my head around the old system, I have no chance now

It seems like good news for those travelling non peak - might be able to get in a crafty late trip next year
