Tampa to WDW
hi,
just wondering how easy it is to drive from Tampa Airport to WDW and back again? Flights cheaper and better timed via TPA but dont know how easy the drive is and if its toll roads along the way so would need any Sunpass etc. All advice greatly appreciated |

thanks both - driven from Sanford & MCO before but was worried it maybe a more difficult drive.
Roughly how long did it take? Google maps estimated about 1 hour 20mins |

Have not been through Tampa for a few years but always found it more child friendly and quicker to get through than Orlando.

Tampa airport was great, it’s small and we got through very quickly in August last year.
Drive was very straight forward and did take around 1hr 20-1hr 30

we have done it a few times now and Tampa is my Airport of choice, much easier to navigate than MCO. and to be honest the drive does not seem much longer than MCO to WDW, prob another 25 mins or so, not too bad at all. one straight road

If price was the same I would choose Tampa over Orlando, I don’t find the drive too bad, but we’re travelling on a Friday this year, so traffic might be worse. Immigration is a lot quicker and we do Avis Preferred so straight to the garage. Generally on the road pretty quickly, definitely not a tricky drive, but it is I4 so can get congested.
