Things to do outside of the parks in October/November
Hi,
We will be travelling to Orlando late October - mid November this year and looking for some fun an interesting things to do outside of the parks. Does anyone know of any things such as the following around Orlando happening around those times? - Christmas Music Events - Any filming events in the parks, extras etc - Any TV studios/film sets that can be visited - Sporting events - Museums - Anything else fun to do! Thanks |

I would thoroughly recommend tampa bay lightning ice hockey game. The 2019/20 NHL fixtures will be out late June and you'll be very unlucky if not at least 1 home game during your fortnight. We have also just booked American Football for sun 10th November. Tampa Bay Buccs v Arizona Cardinals.

Old town Kissimmee has free movies outside on a Sunday and of course car and bike nights with live music all free. Check out Lakeridge winery's website as they have crafts and blues music, seafood festival with music and crafts, entrance fee is usually about $5, it used to be just $2 but prices have gone up.

If you’re interested in a sports event I would also look at the college fixtures. The atmosphere that you can get looks amazing (haven’t actually been) and there’ll be game’s in Orlando.

I'd definitely second checking what college games are on during your stay. If you go to the websites of the University of Florida (their sports teams are called the Gators) and the University of Central Florida (teams are called the Knights) you can check fixtures for all their different sports teams.
We went to a UCF Knights american football game back in 2014. The atmosphere outside before the game (we went earlier and 'tailgated') and inside during the game was fantastic with thousands of students and fans enjoying the pre-game atmosphere and huge marching bands, dance squads and cheerleaders, etc during the game. Entry was also approximately half the price of professional football games (Buccaneers in Tampa, Dolphins in Miami and Jaguars up in Jacksonville).

There is the science museum in Orlando. Also at Winter Park the Morse museum of Art.
We visited Leu gardens (not far from Winter Park) and Bok Tower gardens last year. at Bok the house was decorated for Christmas and really pretty. They also have a Carillon tower, and someone was playing a concert. You can sometimes get discounted admission on Groupon. |

We love Celebration in october to see the Halloween decorations. They are incredible. If you are doing Tampa for sport a trip to the coast (Clearwater beach) and a ride on either little toot or the seascreamer (we’ve enjoyed both) to see dolphins is great. Also some amazing independent places to eat in Tampa.
Enjoy!
