RV Hire
Hi
We are looking into a trip on the west coast in an RV. Has anyone done this? Any tips? What should I be checking about the RV package when I book? How easy was it getting between sites? How did you find the campsites? Thanks in advance |

sorry not done it myself, but would like to do it, was over in Yosemite 3 weeks ago, and there was alot of RVs staying there, saw alot of CruiseAmerica rentals, did have a chat with a couple who was staying there, they said the national park sites, get booked very quickly, there is some that you can turn up at, but once there full thats it, so if you do think about doing it, see if you can get the sites booked first, before you go all in. definitely check the RV sites out as well, we did see some that looked fantastic, but also some that, well i would rather avoid. |

We have hired RV's in USA and Australia and will be doing so again for our trip around New England next year. May I suggest you take a look at MOTORHOME BOOKERS (UK based) they seem to come out a lot cheaper than booking direct with USA companies and also get 'add on's' includes that you have to pay for via US sites, insurance is also included whereas you have to pay LOTS extra from US companies. Most of the hire companies will include the KOA (campground of America) book which tells you where most sites are, there are other sites available, you can usually google for more info. Hope that helps
Margaret p s by the way I have no affiliation to Motorhome bookers. |

I’m considering a trip in an RV in 2020 and came across this website : rvshare. It’s private owners who rent out their RVs (a bit like Airbnb on wheels!) and a lot of the “extras” you have to pay for on most sites are included in the price. You can also see (providing the pictures are recent!) what you will be getting. I haven’t yet checked out what the insurance arrangements are though. Might be worth a look?
