InsureandGo - Travel Insurance Update

We havent got anything booked but its good know that we would be covered even though we cant fly

Hi Elaine,

We’re writing to let you know about some improvements to the level of cover available for Coronavirus (meaning COVID-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-COV-2), or any mutation or variation of these).

Earlier this year, we wrote to you to let you know that we would not be providing cover for any Coronavirus related claims for trips booked on or after 13th March. We’re pleased to tell you that this has now changed and the restriction has been lifted.

For any trips booked under your current policy you will now have cover for Coronavirus related claims, unless at the time of booking your trip there is something to suggest that it is unlikely to go ahead. Please check our FAQs if you have any questions about this.

We hope that you enjoy your travels for the rest of the year.

I read this to mean that if you book for usa whilst the FCO advice is not to travel, even if departure is 2021, you will not be covered.

It is the conditions at the time of booking that are critical in my interpretation.

Yes, you are correct. I wouldn’t be booking any trip to the States at the moment until restrictions are lifted.
